We are committed providing students with the tools and expertise to share their passion and deliver high quality, safe, inclusive and fun dance instruction to their future students and peers.

Your Commitment

Ignite’s flexible study options mean you can undertake your practical training the following ways:

Option A: Remote Learning

Your course can be delivered at your home studio. This would involve working alongside a dance teacher of your choosing (must be approved by Ignite) and would include a weekly check in with an Ignite faculty member

Option B: Face to face learning:

Your course can be delivered at Canberra Dance Collective. This would involve attending classes at their Greenway, ACT studio, working alongside one of our qualified Ignite dance teachers.

With both study options, students will receive comprehensive study guides to assist and guide them through their courses. These will be explained and delivered at the commencement of each course to ensure students feel equipped to navigate through and excel in their studies.

FAQ’s

How do I know which course is best for me or my child?

If you would like to discuss you or your child’s future in dance education, get in touch with Ignite via the ‘Contact’ page and we can discuss the best fit for you or your child, based on age, experience and skills.

What topics or subjects are included in each course?

For more detailed information on what is included in each course, you can download the Student Prospectus here. Please also feel free to reach out to Ignite with any additional questions you might have.

Can courses be completed quicker or slower than the timeframes outlined?

In short, yes. The timeframes provided are a guide based on the average student’s weekly availability around schooling and other extra-curricular activities. If a student was wanting to complete their training quicker for example, this would be dependent on a number of factors. For e.g. the availability of the student’s chosen instructor (if undertaking the practical components at home studio) and also the availability of Ignite faculty to run each course to the highest quality.

If a student wanted to complete their course at a slower pace, this is also possible. Get in touch with Ignite to discuss your individual requirements and we can work with you to try and find the best arrangement.

Can you gain credit points that can contribute towards year 11/12 certificate?

In the ACT, this is at the students’ school’s discretion in conjunction with The ACT Board of Secondary School Studies.

How much and what type of support will be provided by Canberra Dance Collective throughout each course?

The amount of face to face support from an Ignite faculty member will depend on whether you have chosen to undertake the practical components of your studies at your home studio or at Canberra Dance Collective’s Greenway studio.

Aside from the practical components, students will be provided with study guides along with access to their dedicated Ignite faculty member/assessor for theoretical support for the duration of their course.

We want our students to feel prepared with everything they need in order to learn and excel in their courses.
