Our Vision
Canberra Dance Collective is dedicated to uniting dancers from Canberra and regional New South Wales, offering unique opportunities to learn from some of the most sought-after dance educators and choreographers in the industry. Our collective fosters a collaborative and inclusive environment for dancers, studio owners, and teachers, with a strong emphasis on safety and working toward the regulation of the dance industry.
We are committed to ensuring that the dance community operates in a secure and professional environment, with clear standards and qualifications for both instructors and studios. Our programs not only focus on artistic development but also align with our goal of regulating the industry to ensure safety, fairness, and best practices for all participants.
Under the Canberra Dance Collective, we have launched several key programs that reflect our values and mission:
Ignite Specialist Dance Training
This program provides dancers with high-quality, intensive training in various dance styles. More than just skill development, Ignite is designed to prepare dancers and educators for the regulatory standards we are advocating for, ensuring that participants are well-equipped and qualified to meet future industry requirements.
Unity Dance Challenge
A unique competition focused on creating a safe, fun, and supportive environment for dancers to showcase their talents. Unity fosters positive competition where dancers of all ages and levels can perform with confidence, knowing that their well-being is a priority. This initiative reflects our commitment to promoting a safety-first culture within dance competitions.
Camp Connect
A comprehensive, immersive experience where dancers and performing arts enthusiasts can come together to develop their skills, culminating in the opportunity to present their own showcase. This camp is an excellent platform for those looking to explore various aspects of the performing arts in a safe and collaborative environment, all while connecting with like-minded individuals.
MOVE
A program specifically for adults, MOVE offers dance classes and workshops run in collaboration with Canberra dance schools. It focuses on providing a fun, inclusive, and professionally-guided space for adults to explore dance, whether they are beginners or experienced dancers looking to refine their skills.
At Canberra Dance Collective, we are proud of the community we’ve built and the pathways we provide for dancers, studio owners, and educators to grow in a safe, supportive, and regulated environment. By championing industry standards and connecting the local dance community, we aim to lead the way toward a brighter, safer future for performing arts.
